QC By Choice is a state-of-the-art Mobile Testing Lab, it is in fact India’s First Mobile ELISA Lab. This unique concept is developed to improve the Quality Control of aquaculture products at the farm level.
Quality control of shrimp happens at both farm level and when the raw material (shrimp) arrives at the processing plants. By developing a Mobile testing lab, most of the ‘KEY’ tests can be done at farm level itself (Pre-Harvest Tests- PHT) which will minimise the entire processing time as QC clearance is given at the farm-level.
Our Mobile lab also aims to enable timely decision making on shrimp quality at farm level (especially the presence of antibiotic residues in Shrimp).
We are determined to make a positive impact to elevate Best Aquaculture Practices in India and at the same time create meaningful awareness for farmers.

- Screen Aquaculture Shrimps for the presence of banned Antibiotics residues in the tissues by ELISA method.
- Ice/Water sampling.
- Organoleptic evaluation of live Shrimps pre-harvest

Choice Canning Company (part of The Choice Group), is a leading exporter of aqua-cultured (farm raised) shrimp. We procure majority of our material from the ‘shrimp belt’ of the south Indian coastal state of Andhra Pradesh. Aqua-culture is a sensitive area which requires regular technical/lab support. Adherence to ‘Good aqua-culture practices’ is essential to produce best quality Shrimps, which can be frequently verified with the help of a Mobile lab which can remotely detect the usage of banned antibiotics, drugs, other banned chemicals and test the quality of water/ice which is critical to this industry.
